- Sign in with Apple or Google
- Monlio requires sign-in with Apple or Google to use iCloud sync and protect your account. Open the app, choose your preferred sign-in method, and follow the on-screen prompts. Signing out removes your profile from the device but keeps your local finance data unless you choose to delete your account.
- Enabling or disabling iCloud sync
- Go to Settings and turn iCloud sync on or off. When enabled, your finance data syncs across your Apple devices via CloudKit. You can also tap Sync Now for a manual sync. Disabling sync keeps all data on your device — nothing is deleted.
- App lock with Face ID or passcode
- Open Settings → App Lock to require Face ID, Touch ID, or a custom passcode when opening Monlio. You can change or remove the lock at any time. If biometrics fail, use your device passcode or the custom passcode you set in the app.
- Multi-currency and exchange rates
- Each account can use its own currency. Set a default currency in Settings for net worth totals and converted amounts. Exchange rates come from Frankfurter (ECB). Use the visible currencies picker to control which currencies appear when adding accounts or transactions.
- Transfers and currency exchange transactions
- When adding a transaction, choose Transfer to move money between accounts, or Exchange to convert between fiat currencies. Monlio suggests exchange rates from live data — you can adjust the rate before saving. Both transaction types update account balances automatically.

- Monlio is a minimal personal finance tracker for iPhone and iPad. You manually log income, expenses, transfers, and currency exchanges across multiple accounts — including crypto and stocks — without connecting a bank account.
- Does Monlio connect to my bank?
- No. Monlio does not support bank account import or open banking. You enter transactions yourself for full control and privacy.
- Does Monlio work offline?
- Yes. Monlio is offline-first. Your data is stored locally on your device in SQLite and remains available without an internet connection.
- How does iCloud sync work?
- After signing in with Apple or Google, you can enable iCloud sync in Settings. Finance data syncs across your Apple devices via CloudKit. You can turn sync off or sign out while keeping local data on your device.
