- Using the built-in amount calculator
- When adding or editing a transaction or account, tap the amount field to open the custom keypad. Use +, −, ×, ÷, and = to total amounts before saving — handy for splitting receipts or combining line items.
- Dashboard account cards and hide balances
- Swipe through account cards below net worth on the Dashboard — each shows balance and this month's earned vs. spent, sorted by recent usage. Tap the eye icon beside Net Worth to hide all balances app-wide. Choose which accounts appear on the carousel via the per-account Display on dashboard toggle or Profile → Account cards on dashboard.
- Editing your profile
- Tap your profile header or the avatar in the tab bar to change your display name and avatar (initials, preset icons, or custom emoji). Custom profile details persist after sign out.
- Sign in with Apple or Google
- Monlio requires sign-in with Apple or Google to use iCloud sync and protect your account. Open the app, choose your preferred sign-in method, and follow the on-screen prompts. Signing out removes your profile from the device but keeps your local finance data unless you choose to delete your account.
- Enabling or disabling iCloud sync
- Go to Settings and turn iCloud sync on or off. When enabled, your finance data syncs across your Apple devices via CloudKit. You can also tap Sync Now for a manual sync. Disabling sync keeps all data on your device — nothing is deleted.
- App lock with Face ID or passcode
- Open Settings → App Lock to require Face ID, Touch ID, or a custom passcode when opening Monlio. You can change or remove the lock at any time. If biometrics fail, use your device passcode or the custom passcode you set in the app.
- Multi-currency and exchange rates
- Each account can use its own currency. Set a default currency in Settings for net worth totals and converted amounts. Exchange rates come from Frankfurter (ECB). Use the visible currencies picker to control which currencies appear when adding accounts or transactions.
- Transfers and currency exchange transactions
- When adding a transaction, choose Transfer to move money between accounts, or Exchange to convert between fiat currencies. Monlio suggests exchange rates from live data — you can adjust the rate before saving. Both transaction types update account balances automatically.
- How many accounts are included on the free plan?
- The free plan includes up to 2 accounts. Upgrade to Monlio Pro with a one-time purchase to unlock unlimited accounts, multi-currency tracking, advanced reports, and optional iCloud sync.

- Does Monlio connect to my bank?
- No. Monlio does not support bank account import or open banking. You enter transactions yourself for full control and privacy.
